“Maybe I will. Find something beautiful. Something I’m good at something- I’m something that... I’m something, must be something.”

Hedda returns from her honeymoon to an empty marriage, an unfulfilling existence and a pregnancy she doesn’t want. Driven by an unthinking desire for power and beauty, Hedda attempts to manipulate those around her to devastating effect.

In this bold new version of Henrik Ibsen’s original, Critics’ Circle award winner Lucy Kirkwood brings the enigmatic Hedda into a modern world full of dry wit, Oxford academics, and identity crisis.
